I know things...

Most people think designers are these crazy people who pick colors and play on photoshop. Well, news flash... we know more than you think, and our jobs are a whole bunch more than what you think or what the stereotype is. Designers are problem solvers and thinkers.

So, I know how an Apple TV works, and everything that it needs so it will function.

I know how surfers can tube ride. Not that I am a surfer or anything.

I also know that Oklahoma is very windy and is ideal for windsurfing, although it is a land locked state. Did you know that?

I know 25 years of the Moscow Metro history and what Stalin did within the architecture of the stations and what was meant to be portrayed as propaganda in these stations.

Inspiration stricken?

Dear readers,

I have come to the conclusion that my "Design Mode" is currently switched to off. I believe the summer melted my brain and now the function of coming up with ideas is actually really hard. I guess school just started a few weeks too early for me.

So, inspiration... its a funny thing. It hits in the middle of the night, mid car ride to work in the morning, as you are eating your teriyaki bowl from Pei-Wei. I've received spurts of it, but I haven't gotten the full affect yet.

Therefore Friends, I reach out to you. Where do you get your best inspiration?

Summer. √Čte. Verano.

Summer is finally here!

I am beyond excited. I have a pile of magazines that I have been meaning to flip through, a pile of books practically a mile long, a set of new CDs that are getting me pumped for summer. And a full ambition of getting organized before school starts back up in August. Also, a bunch of books that I have been wanting to check out about San Francisco, my main vacation plan this summer.

Are you going anywhere? Have you ever been to San Francisco? If so, I would love to hear about certain places that blew your mind while you were there.

What are your summer plans?

Happy summer!

The end of the semester is near, thank God. For some reason the spring semester always seems to drag out a lot longer than the fall semester. Why is that?

Anyway, I thought I would share with you some of my summer plans... design training. I bought a few books off amazon so I can keep the design side of my brain active once summer truly hits us.. which will be hard, I know. I purchased : The creative workshop by David Sherwin as well as Vector Training by Von R. Glitschka. Do you have any graphic design book recommendations to keep your skills sharp or sharpen them even more?

Let me know.
